I cannot determine by reading the descriptions of the cooking classes if we are only learning how to prepare the meal, or are we actually eating what we prepare? Does the $10 supply fee go toward each persons meal, if so do we eat there at the school, or take home? Just not clear on what’s included.
Great question, Christine. During the 2013 Winter classes, you’ll be cooking 3 courses “hands-on” and yes, you’ll absolutely get to eat what you cook! We will be covering quite a bit of material in 2 hours, though, so there isn’t a lot of time then for a “sit-down” meal. There will be take-home containers for whatever leftovers you have. Nearly all students take home food. The $10 goes towards the cost of the food ingredients and any special cooking equipment needed. Sometimes students also take home a new cooking utensil – just depends on what we’re learning that day!
I’ll be putting up more details about the menus and techniques you’ll be learning during the next few weeks. In the meantime, please let me know if you’ve got any more questions. Thanks for your interest!
